SAFETY HARBOR –

Like others who make their living from a small business, Terry Saverson is eager to learn how to capitalize on opportunities from the August Republican National Convention in Tampa.

The sales vice president for Strong Arm Airfield Services, a Tampa company with eight employees specializing in pavement marking on military bases, knows precisely what he wants to accomplish.

Wed seek contracts for striping projects for parking lots and other areas for the convention, Saverson said. What we really want, though, goes beyond convention projects. We want to build exposure for our company for the long run.

If the overflow crowd of nearly 500 attending...

Can you give us some good information on protecting our dogs from this cold weather?

Dogs can struggle through this cold snap as much as we do. We are lucky enough to be able to hide out inside our warm house or put on extra clothes or jackets to stay warm.

Dogs do not have these options unless their owners make it available for them.

If your pet usually stays inside and only goes out to use the restroom or stretch their legs, then doggy clothing might be a great option for you.

If you need to find out where to get low- cost vaccinations, give...

Economic uncertainty, iffy consumer confidence and jittery bankers took their toll on metro Atlanta’s small-business transaction market in 2011.

Prices of small businesses sold in the region fell nearly 6.5 percent from 2010, according to new data from online business listing service BizBuySell.com. That’s in contrast to a year earlier, when small-business prices surged nearly 15 percent.

According to an analysis of 165 closed transactions in metro Atlanta by BizBuySell, businesses sold for a median price of $130,000 in 2011. That’s down from a median sale price of $139,000 a year earlier.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 (Bernama) — Businesses must address public expectation and ensure that their efforts to reduce environmental impact in their business processes are realised without sacrificing products quality or function, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

I must emphasise that, this role is no longer a simple matter as just controlling pollution.

Business community today must take into account the impact of their operations at every stage — from the extraction...

Booyah, the maker of real-world social and mobile games, announced its newest game today, Pet Town. It is another step in the companys reinvention of itself.

San Francisco-based Booyah was founded in 2008 with early money for mobile games from Kleiner Perkins Caufield amp; Byers. It saw its My Town franchise soar into the stratosphere in popularity, only to see it stall. Under a new chief executive, the company is now releasing a new slate of games that it says have put the company back on the growth path.

The Pet Town game is now available in the Apple App Store and it is part of the companys goal of being the category leader in real-world entertainment.

In the game,...
